A holistic development of students can only come through awareness, sensitivity towards society and passionate involvement in myriad aspects of society. On 26th August, the students of Std.XI and XIi took the initiative to make the day special for the underprivileged. They visited Old Age  Homes, rural schools, School of Hope for mentally retarded children, Nirmal Hriday  Missionaries of Charity and so on. The visit was planned to induce and inculcate kindness, compassion and consideration in the students towards these special people.

 

An introductive session was the beginning of the  wonderful time the  students had spent there. They made all possible efforts to spend some fruitful hours with them. The people living in the Old Age Homes shared their experiences and sang enthusiastically with the students. Activities like drawing, quizzing, poem recitation, origami art and story telling marked the  way of making them feel comfortable. Students distributed books, crayons, goodies and other gifts.The visit became  more interactive and mutually rewarding with the participation of all in various activities, thus making it more enjoyable.

 

It is easy to be selfish but it is difficult  to be selfless. The experience was not only heart- warming but enlightening also, and it motivated  the students to take more steps in making people's lives worth living and sharing their world with them.
