“Lord, teach me to be generous.
Teach me to serve you as you deserve;
To give and not to count the cost,
To fight and not to heed the wounds,
To toil and not to seek for rest,
To labour and not to ask for reward,
Save that of knowing that I do your will.”
(St. Ignatius of Loyola)
The students of class 3A proudly conducted a special assembly on the 26th of July, 2023 in order to celebrate Loyola Day or Saint Ignatius Day, which falls on the 31st of July.
Transformation takes place when an individual changes not just his thinking but his whole value system. Such changes usually come about gradually when one discards his old habits and embraces a new framework of thought and action.
Such was the life story of St. Ignatius and the key aspects that led him to his call, namely, ‘Divinity’, ‘Charity’, ‘Submission’, ‘Compassion’ and finally the formation of ‘The Jesuit Society’ were demonstrated by the students. The values set up by St. Ignatius were highlighted in placards along with a flag march of the four houses. Towards the end, the students danced on a sweet hymn, ‘I want to grow in deeds and faith’ by Jana Alayra. The assembly concluded by a “Jai Loyola” slogan by the speakers.
