To succeed in life and stand straight, we need strong bones. To facilitate good bone health for all the teachers in the junior section, Fr.Principal organised a session with Dr Saurabh Chaudhary, a leading orthopaedic consultant and joint replacement surgeon of Jamshedpur.
It was the need of the hour as we all have some bone related ailment or the other. Dr.Saurabh enlightened us on the causes of osteoporosis and how it can lead to brittle and fragile bones, increasing the risk of fractures. He talked about prevention as the best measure for treating this condition by including Vitamin D and Calcium supplements in our diet.
He recommended DEXA Scan to know the condition of the bones at the earliest and start treatment to avoid further degeneration.
Along with medicines, exercise, especially strength training exercises, brisk walking for 45 minutes daily is a must for good bone health.
Good health is not always a gift. It is an accomplishment achieved through hard work and diligence.
