Loyola School, Bistupur, hosted Azionare 2026, an inter-school celebration of Indian music and culture  on 12^th September that brought together 290 participants from 11 schools.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Mr. S. V. Rao, an accomplished vocalist and former music teacher, and  Guest of Honour Mrs. R. Shyamala, the proud parents of celebrated singer and proud Loyolean, Shilpa Rao . The ceremony commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a soulful classical vocal performance and a cultural presentation.

The Welcome Address was delivered by Fr. Michael T. Raj, Rector, Loyola School, who extended a warm welcome to the participating schools and set the tone for the day’s celebrations. This was followed by an address by Fr. Vinod Fernandes, Principal, Loyola School, who emphasised the importance of preserving and celebrating India’s rich musical heritage.

The event featured nine on-stage and off-stage events. The on-stage events included MusIQ, Karwaan, Nrityanjali and Bandish Bandits, while the off-stage events comprised Vox Vitae, Sur Kshetra, Swar Chitra, Aaroh Exodus and Vilambit Venture. These events provided participants with opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge, creativity, artistic expression, performance skills and teamwork.

The day continued with a series of engaging competitions and vibrant cultural performances, culminating in an energetic performance by the Loyola Band.

The closing ceremony and prize distribution were graced by Chief Guest Mr. Rajiv Talwar, an accomplished Loyola alumnus, Director of the Talbros Group, Senior Vice President of the Loyola Alumni Association and National Secretary of the Jesuit Alumni Association of India.

The much-anticipated Overall Championship brought the celebrations to a grand finale. Sacred Heart Convent School emerged as the Overall Runner-Up, while Carmel Junior College was crowned the Overall Champion of Azionare 2026. Their outstanding performances reflected exceptional talent, dedication, teamwork and creativity.
