Jamshedpur, April 25, 2026: Loyola School, Jamshedpur, in collaboration with the Loyola Alumni Association (LAA), successfully organized Career Compass 2.0, a comprehensive career counselling session for students from Classes 9 to 12. The programme formed an integral part of the school’s ongoing alumni mentorship initiative, wherein the alumni members regularly engage with current students through interactive sessions, sharing experiences, and offering guidance.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by the Principal of Loyola School, Fr. Vinod Fernandes SJ. The Rector of Loyola School, Fr. Michael T. Raj, felicitated the ten distinguished speakers while the Principal, who is also the President of LAA, presented 28 alumni mentors with mementoes in recognition of their valuable contribution to the mentorship programme.
Mr. Ronald D’Costa, a distinguished alumnus of Loyola School, served as the moderator for the programme, inviting the speakers to share their expertise and insights.
The session began with an overview of diverse career options and an introduction to the resource persons. Over the course of the day, ten key domains were explored: Artificial Intelligence, Business Management, Foreign Education, Medicine and Healthcare, Aerospace and Aviation, Psychology, Sports Management, Law, Financial Investments, and Design Thinking and Architecture.
Eminent professionals from each of these fields enriched the session with their knowledge and expertise. The speakers included Ishaan Ahuja (Co-founder of Teemac), Dr. Rahul Shukla (Faculty at XLRI), Partha Kabi (expert on overseas education), Dr. Sanjeet Roy (Pathologist), Col. Deepak Rawal (Pilot with Tata Steel), Fr. Dr. Joseph Matthews (Professor of Psychology at XLRI), Mukul Choudhari (CEO of Jamshedpur Football Academy), Rishi Bhatnagar (Advocate), Dr. Ameet K. Banerjee (Professor of Finance at XLRI), and Mr. Gurjeet Singh Dogra (Architect). Each expert provided valuable insights into their respective domains, guiding students on the opportunities and skills required to succeed.
The programme in the auditorium concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Rajiv Talwar, Senior Vice President of LAA.
Following the general session held in the Fasy Auditorium, the students were guided to designated classrooms for each domain. These smaller, interactive sessions enabled one-on-one engagement with the experts, allowing students to seek personalised guidance.
Career Compass 2.0, aligned closely with the Loyola Alumni mentorship initiative and its vision to nurture and guide students, proved to be an enriching and impactful platform to “Dream, Discover, and Design,” empowering students with clarity, direction, and confidence as they plan their future careers.
